The new generation of software for monitoring and simulation of the development of risk in pipelines is at the same time professional and attractive. We introduced how we did it for Nafta, a.s. in the magazine Slovgas.
The new risk model fulfills the needs and expectations of even the most demanding professional client. It includes all the available technical data, presented clearly. Analytical calculations are integrated into the model, therefore the user sees only comprehensibly marked degree of risk along the entire pipeline,” presented Marek Ivaňák, head of the new generation of risk monitoring system project and technical director of YMS, member of the Slovak Gas and Oil Association.
The main diagnostics screen combines several analytical windows, achieving not only clarity, but also accelerated up and refined attention to every detail. The user can open the window about risk on whichever part of the pipeline, in the necessary amount of diagnostical detail, including the location on a map, in the minimum amount of clicks. “We present the data in tables, graphs or colourfully organized infographics. The experience with working with the risk model is therefore clean, clear and pleasing to the eye, despite the expertise of the issues and the technical complexity,” sais Ivaňák.
The risk model is built on two modules and covers all three areas that management needs for risk analysis and simulation. All the diagnostics data in one application, complete overview and current degree of risk on the entire monitored infrastructure as well as the ability to simulate whichever variant of future risk development, clarified with the fact, that the only component of the model is the simulation of changes in risk depending on the weight of monitored parameters.
“We created a tool with which the manager responsible for risk control can immediately test what will actually happen if the importance weight of any parameter changes. The risk model of pipelines for Naftu currently monitors nearly thirty risk parameters, each of which has a different weight and is monitored using different diagnostics data,” explained Ivaňák.
In the default settings the risk of each parameter is automatically calculated based on applicable internal regulations of the company. In the new generation of the model the user is working with the very base of the model. They therefore create an unlimited amount of possible scenarios for risk development by adding or removing weight from parameters, or even the parameters themselves. Based on their intentions the applications recalculates all the analysis in the diagnostical screen/window.
The risk model, the flagship of YMS for the third decade, is suitable for any technically demanding infrastructure requiring risk monitoring, like for example electrical networks, railway infrastructure or technical areas. It is built on interconnected and data-linked applications that run on the most modern technology and provides each company the ability to further develop the system and fill it with data.
