YMS will participate in the European space program Copernicus. Its mission is to deepen the knowledge of the Earth, climate and its change in time using satellites with a variety of sensors in the complete range of frequencies. Tens of salellites called Sentinel circle the Earth and in the interval of a few days produce large amounts of data for further processing for organisations and companies with required know-how.

YMS has been working on processing satellite and laser data for several years. In the third round of calls for project proposals of the ESA agency ESA (European Space Agency) as part of the PECS Programme (Plan for European Cooperating States), YMS won a project to support mapping and monitoring of disturbances in forest areas (Sentinel 2 Based Support of Forest Disturbance Mapping and Monitoring). YMS will fulfill the project activities in cooperation with professionals from the Office of Land Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

This interesting project launches YMS cosmic mission and we are looking forward to other challenges that cooperation with ESA will bring us.
